What does this achievement mean to owners David and Paul Waibel? And how is artificial intelligence changing the fiduciary industry? We spoke to the two brothers.
Paul Waibel: “The Award Is a Bit Like a Michelin Star”
Paul Waibel:
For me, the award is a bit like a Michelin star. Earning such a star takes hard work, dedication and passion.
What means even more to me is that we have managed to retain the distinction. This requires stability and a professional team. Our employees must consistently perform at the highest level. Without them, this continuity would not be possible.
The award shows that our company has real substance. As an entrepreneur, I am particularly proud of that.
David Waibel: “The Award Confirms We Are on the Right Track”
David Waibel:
For me, the ranking confirms the direction we have taken. We have made the right strategic decisions in recent years.
Our industry is changing significantly. Digitalisation, automation and artificial intelligence are increasingly shaping our work.
However, our most important task remains unchanged. We need to understand our clients, advise them personally and support them over the long term. Direct communication is essential, especially when it comes to tax and fiduciary matters.
We want to make consistent use of modern technologies. At the same time, we want to maintain our personal relationships with our clients. This balance is central to our approach.
When a Client Arrives with a Ready-Made AI Solution
Artificial intelligence brings new opportunities and challenges. David Waibel has encountered an example in his advisory work.
A client came to us with a specific AI-generated solution. He assumed it was correct from a tax perspective. Our first task was to explain why this was not the case. We had to explain respectfully why the solution did not work from a legal or tax perspective.
Professional expertise and experience remain essential, especially when dealing with complex issues. AI can provide support and speed up processes. However, professional judgement and responsibility remain with the experts.
Digital Fiduciary Services and Personal Advice
We see artificial intelligence as an opportunity. It can simplify routine tasks and make processes more efficient. This creates more time for complex issues and individual advice.
Our role also includes supporting clients through this development. We want to show them how to use AI sensibly and responsibly.
David Waibel also sees an opportunity for personal development.
Perhaps, in the future, we will be a little bit of a prompt engineer alongside being fiduciary experts. That would be an exciting development of our professional role.
Paul Waibel also sees considerable potential.
If AI reliably takes over routine tasks, we will have more time for complex issues. We can then focus more on demanding advisory work. This allows us to demonstrate our expertise to our clients.
